EPA Can’t Legally Redirect Green Funds, Enviro Group Tells Court

The Trump administration’s quest to claw back $20 billion in Biden-era green grants should be stopped because its suggested plan for the money is unconstitutional, according to a legal theory submitted in an amicus brief by the Natural Resources Defense Council.

The Environmental Protection Agency has been trying to rescind grants awarded to nonprofit green banks under a program known as the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. The agency argues that the spending is wasteful and was handed out based on personal relationships in some cases.
