The Biden administration on Monday will announce it’s awarding more than $4.3 billion to fund climate projects across the nation.
Together, the 25 recipients’ projects will cut greenhouse gas pollution by 971 million metric tons by 2050, roughly equivalent to five million homes’ energy usage each year for 25 years, according to EPA Administrator Michael Regan.
The funding, which was authorized by the 2022 climate law, is important politically because it gives the administration and Democrats a chance to show voters evidence of its accomplishments.
