The Environmental Protection Agency announced Feb. 16 that it has reached a multiparty agreement on cleanup costs for the Sulphur Bank Mercury Mine superfund site in northern California (United States v. Bradley Mining Co.).
The parties to the agreement include the Department of Interior, U.S. Forest Service, Bradley Mining Co., Worthen Bradley Family Trust, and the Elem Indian Colony of Pomo Indians, EPA said in a statement.
The proposed consent decree was filed Feb. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, which must approve the agreement.
