The EPA needs to better explain the reasons it choose to ignore some ways people are exposed to chemicals in its analyses of the health and environmental risks of those compounds, scientists advising the agency said Aug. 21.
It’s “very concerning” that health risks the general public may face from inhaling or otherwise being exposed to a solvent called1-bromopropane are not being evaluated by the Environmental Protection Agency, said Kathleen Gilbert, an immunotoxicologist who recently retired from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
