A coalition of environmental groups called Tuesday on the EPA to reinstate individual members of advisory committees who were “unjustifiably removed” by a now-defunct order barring members who had taken grant money from the agency.
Now that the directive has been rescinded, the Environmental Protection Agency “must ensure that the most qualified individuals in their fields have the opportunity to advise on critical science and policy issues,” the groups said in a letter to Administrator Andrew Wheeler.
An EPA spokeswoman said the agency is reviewing the letter and had no further comment.
