Environmentalists Challenge Mercury Emissions Limits Review (2)

The Environmental Defense Fund is leading a challenge of the EPA’s conclusion that power plant limits on mercury and other toxic air pollutants adequately protect public and environmental health, and thus need no further tightening.

The Environmental Protection Agency used “unreliable data” that omitted the emissions of some dangerous pollutants and understated others, the coalition of nine environmental groups claimed in a petition filed Tuesday at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
