Environmental Justice Advocates Want More Clarity on Justice40

Environmental equity advocates worry there still isn’t a reliable way to verify whether President Joe Biden is making good on his pledge to put 40% of benefits from climate and other federal spending in communities most impacted by pollution.

A Biden executive order in January called for a scorecard to ensure a broad array of agencies will be held accountable in meeting his Justice40 pledge to bring more equitable treatment of low-income and minority populations that have borne the brunt of air, chemical, and other pollutants.
