Environmental Groups to Sue EPA Over Airplane Greenhouse Gases

Two major environmental groups told the EPA Thursday they plan to sue the administration for failing to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from airplanes.

The notice of intent argues that the Environmental Protection Agency issued a finding in August 2016 that greenhouse gases from aircraft endanger public health and welfare. The agency is therefore required to set emissions standards under the Clean Air Act, said the Center for Biological Diversity and Friends of the Earth.
