The EPA has published a list of possible members to its science advisory committee on chemicals, roiling environmentalists who say the agency isn’t putting the best-qualified people forward.
The Environmental Protection Agency’s list includes 47 potential candidates to the Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals. The agency said it expects to appoint some 15 members by March 2021.
The panel’s mandate is to provide independent scientific advice and recommendations to the EPA about risk assessments, methodologies, and pollution prevention measures for chemicals regulated under the Toxic Substances Control Act.
