Environmental Advocates Ask EPA to Get PFAS Data From Chemours

Six North Carolina environmental health groups petitioned the EPA Wednesday to require The Chemours Co. to generate toxicity, human health, and other data for 54 so-called forever chemicals.

The 54 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, warrant testing because they meet the Toxic Substances Control Act’s criteria for potentially posing an unreasonable risk to people or the environment, the groups said. Ongoing exposures to North Carolina residents also justifies testing, the petition said.
