Eni SpA is working with US energy companies on potentially forming joint ventures to develop oil resources in Venezuela, highlighting the opportunities for the Italian group as sanctions are eased in the country.
The Italian energy giant has interests in Venezuela’s Orinoco oil belt and offshore Corocoro through joint ventures with Petróleos de Venezuela SA. The fields are part of current talks with American partners, Chief Executive Officer Claudio Descalzi said during an analyst call after the earnings release on Thursday.
