Several gas trade associations and companies are challenging three Energy Department rules amending energy conservation standards for various appliances.
The agency “adopted efficiency standards that will eliminate from the market the consumer furnaces and commercial water heaters used by tens of millions of Americans,” the American Gas Association, the National Propane Gas Association, and others in the consolidated cases told the US Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit on Tuesday.
The groups are seeking review of the standards for furnaces, commercial water heaters, and commercial water heating equipment.
