Energy Secretary Says It will Take Years to Refill Oil Reserve

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright says it will take up to seven years to refill the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

  • “It’s urgent to refill it, but there’s a limit to how fast it can be refilled,” Wright said during interview on Bloomberg Television
  • The SPR can discharge oil quickly, but filling it takes far more time: Wright
