The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved a temporary certificate for the Spire STL Pipeline, allowing the already-built line to continue flowing gas through the St. Louis area amid a heated legal battle over its federal authorization.
The commission issued a pipeline certificate that is effective until the Commission “acts on remand on Spire’s pending certificate application,” the commission stated in a 30-page order on Friday. The commission is seeking to resolve issues highlighted by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit when it vacated the pipeline’s authorization in June.
