The US Department of Energy is suing Saniborain LLC in federal court to recover a $70,560 civil penalty for allegedly failing to provide required information about showerhead models.
The complaint alleges Saniborain violated the Energy Policy and Conservation Act and its regulations covering energy and water conservation standards for certain consumer products. The law requires manufacturers of covered products like showerheads to submit compliance reports to the Department of Energy.
The Department of Energy says that after an administrative hearing, its general counsel issued a July 16 order adopting an administrative law judge’s recommendation that Saniborain pay a $70,560 penalty. ...
