Enbridge Energy Co. can keep operating its Line 5 gas pipeline until an appellate court decides whether an order pausing activities permanently should be upheld, a Wisconsin judge ruled.
“Most concerning to the court is the potential devastating impact a sudden shutdown of Line 5 would have on energy prices and local economies, as well as foreign relations with Canada,” said Judge William M. Conley of the US District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin on Feb. 27.
