Opponents of offshore oil and gas drilling scored a victory with the election Nov. 7 of Democrat Ralph Northam to be Virginia’s next governor.
Northam defeated Republican Ed Gillespie, a vocal supporter of offshore oil drilling and two pending pipeline projects.
