Eight Superfund Sites Taken Off EPA Priorities List

Eight high-priority sites contaminated with hazardous waste no longer require immediate and intense attention, the EPA said Aug. 3.

The eight Superfund sites, which include former chemical manufacturing plants like Centredale Manor in North Providence, R.I., were taken off of Acting Administrator Andrew Wheeler’s Superfund priorities, the Environmental Protection Agency announced in a statement.

The action was taken because “the specific goals, objectives, and milestones associated with these sites have been achieved,” the statement said.
