DuPont has settled a federal lawsuit brought against it by a southeast Ohio water district that claimed the company contaminated well fields with perfluorooctanoic acid, the chemical used to produce Teflon (Little Hocking Water Ass. v. E.I. du Pont de Nemours, S.D. Ohio, 2:09-CV-1081, closed 11/27/15).
Details of the agreement with the Little Hocking Water Association are not being disclosed. Judge Algenon Marbley of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio closed the case Nov. 27 after a signed agreement between the district and the chemical giant was filed in his court.
