DuPont Must Face New Jersey Lawsuit Over Contamination Cleanup

DuPont de Nemours Inc. and Corteva Inc. must provide information that could help a federal judge decide whether they engaged in allegedly fraudulent transfers to avoid liability for contamination in New Jersey, a court ruled Wednesday.

New Jersey argues E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Co., referred to as Old DuPont, released PFAS and other hazardous substances that contaminated four different sites in the state. The company knew for several decades that the substances were harmful to human health and the environment, the state says.
