Trump DOJ Asks Judge to Maintain Pause on EV Charger Funds

States’ request to bar the Trump administration from suspending $5 billion in electric vehicle funds should be denied because it’s speculative and not ripe for review, the Department of Transportation told a federal judge.

The Federal Highway Administration plans to issue updated guidance for the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program, and plaintiffs will be able to submit new plans then, the department said Wednesday in its opposition to states’ motion for preliminary injunction.
