DowDupont Inc., 3M Co., and Chemours Cos. are preparing for more lawsuits over a pervasive family of chemicals turning up in drinking water supplies nationwide.
They will likely be saddled with the lawsuits for months, and possibly years, to come over environmental cleanup of the chemicals as state regulators set limits, attorneys and analysts said.
The companies, which do or did manufacture products with poly- and perfluorinated chemicals, could incur losses, possibly millions of dollars, as a result of the lawsuits.
