Dow Agrosciences LLC is not providing “clear and reasonable” warnings about the carcinogenic hazards associated with a chemical it manufactures and sells for use on agricultural crops to control pests, a California environmental group alleged in a Sept. 20 complaint (Ctr. for Envtl. Health v. Dow Agrosciences LLC, Cal. Super. Ct., RG16831788, 9/20/16).
The Center for Environmental Health alleges that Dow knows that the use of the fumigant pesticide Telone continues to expose individuals living or working around Shafter, Calif., to 1,3-Dichloropropene, also known as 1,3-D, which is the active ingredient in the pesticide.
