Dow Sued by Texas Over Air Pollution at Freeport Chemical Plant

Dow Chemical Co.'s “poor operational, maintenance, and design practices” are contributing to improper releases of air pollution from a plant in Texas, according to a petition filed in a state court by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R).

The emissions from the chemical manufacturing plant in Freeport, about 70 miles south of Houston, violate the state Clean Air Act and various permits, the state tells the Texas District Court for Travis County.
