The Trump administration Monday dropped a legal challenge against two California cities over their bans on natural gas hook-ups, citing recent moves by both localities to rescind the policies.
The cities of Petaluma and Morgan Hill both adopted policies within the last several years mandating that new construction be electric. Last month, the Morgan Hill City Council moved to repeal that ban and that change went into effect over the weekend, according to city documents the Trump administration cited in a legal filing.
