DOE Announces $750 Million to Speed Clean Hydrogen Projects

The US Department of Energy on Wednesday announced an initial funding round of $750 million for 52 projects aimed at reducing the cost of domestic clean hydrogen production, a pillar of the Biden administration’s clean energy goals.

The projects, funded by the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, mark a first tranche of funding for researching, developing, manufacturing, and deploying technologies to make domestically produced clean hydrogen cheaper, according to a statement from the department.
