The EPA is sending “rapid response teams” into the field this spring to gather data and get ahead of any problems related to new dicamba herbicide formulations after crop damage incidents last year.
Dicamba remains at the center of a bitter divide between farmers and regulators. In 2017, dicamba-tolerant seed products sold by Monsanto, DuPont, and BASF led to multiple lawsuits filed by farmers claiming that their crops had been damaged when dicamba drifted onto their fields from neighboring farms.
