President Trump’s administration has been hit with another challenge to its border wall construction plans, this time over environmental analysis waivers issued by the Department of Homeland Security.
Acting Secretary Kevin McAleenan cited a portion of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act in authorizing three waivers of the requirement that DHS adhere to National Environmental Policy Act and Endangered Species Act procedures when it undertakes a major project.
