Defunct Atlantic Coast Pipeline Drops Challenge to Zoning Law

Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC is no longer pursuing its lawsuit against a Virginia county over regulations that prevented it from building its project, according to a filing in a federal court in the state that followed an announcement of the project’s cancellation.

The pipeline was a partnership of subsidiaries Dominion Energy Inc., Duke Energy Corp., and Southern Co. It was planned to transport natural gas over more than 600 miles, with 27 miles cutting through Nelson County, which is near Charlottesville.
