DC Judge Grants Okefenokee Mine Litigation Transfer to Georgia

A federal judge granted a titanium dioxide mining company’s request to move a federal lawsuit over an Army Corps of Engineers wetlands decision from Washington to Georgia, escalating a fight over the Okefenokee Swamp.

US District Judge John Bates of the US District Court for the District of Columbia approved Twin Pines Minerals LLC’s motion to move National Wildlife Refuge Association v. Army Corps to the US District Court for the Southern District of Georgia on Monday.
