The world’s largest oil companies are having a great day.
Royal Dutch Shell Plc unlocked one of its biggest oil discoveries in the Gulf of Mexico in a decade. Chevron Corp. and Total SA announced a find that’s the French company’s largest in the area. BP Plc said it had two in the U.K. North Sea.
The discoveries come on a day the supermajors are among drillers bidding for rights to explore in Mexico’s waters, one of the most sought-after oil provinces in the world.
