Data on PFAS That Move From Packaging to Food Set for Release

Information on PFAS that can drift from paper, plastics, and other materials into food and beverages will be publicly available on May 31 in an international database on food contact chemicals.

Scientists have found 29 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, migrating from food packaging, Jane Muncke, managing director of the Food Packaging Forum Foundation, said Friday as she offered a preview of the information her organization will post for public use in the database, which the forum recently released.
