A group of Czech Republic environmental activists is suing the government for allegedly not doing enough to combat climate change.
In a lawsuit filed Wednesday with Prague Municipal Court, the group alleges that the government isn’t taking “sufficient measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” which violates both local environmental law and the country’s international commitments under the Paris Agreement.
The lawsuit is part of an international wave of climate-related lawsuits that have been filed in recent years, including lawsuits that have recently succeeded in the Netherlands and France.
