Cummins to Pay $1.7 Billion Penalty Over Emissions Cheating

Engine manufacturer Cummins Inc. agreed to pay a nearly $1.68 billion penalty to settle claims that it installed emissions defeat devices on hundreds of thousands of RAM pickup truck engines, according to court-approved settlements with California and the federal government.
