Los Angeles Waterkeeper sued Culver City, Calif., for alleged violations of the Clean Water Act related to the Culver City Refuse Transfer Station.
The complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Central District of California alleges that the Culver City has violated the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit for discharges of stormwater associated with industrial activities. Among other charges, the group claims a failure to implement best available control technology to reduce pollutants like zinc, copper, magnesium, iron, and bacteria in stormwater discharges.
