Manufacturing giant 3M Co. waited too long and thus waived its otherwise plausible bid to keep the Covington & Burling law firm from representing the state of Minnesota in a high-stakes environmental lawsuit against 3M, which the firm has previously helped in a related matter, a Minnesota state trial court held Feb. 5 (State v. 3M Co., Minn. Dist. Ct., 27-CV-10-28862, 2/5/16).
