Court Issues Stay in Pesticide Lawsuit Pending End of Government Shutdown

A federal district court issued a stay in a lawsuit challenging the Environmental Protection Agency’s registration of two neonicotinoid insecticides over alleged harm to bees because a lapse in funding has forced the government to shut down (Ellis v. Bradbury).

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California issued an order Oct. 11 staying all proceedings in the lawsuit until Congress appropriates funds for the EPA and Justice Department.
