A petition by environmental groups against the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission opposing its approval of Dominion Resources Inc.'s Cove Point liquefied natural gas export terminal was denied by a federal appeals court (EarthReports v. FERC, D.C. Cir., 15-1127, 7/15/16).
On July 15, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit rejected the petition by several groups including EarthReports Inc., doing business as Patuxent Riverkeeper (a Maryland environmental nonprofit group), Sierra Club and the Chesapeake Climate Action Network.
