A federal district court has approved a PFAS-producer’s settlement to pay for bottled water or home filters that Summerville, Ga., residents need while the town builds a treatment system to remove the chemicals to federal limits.
The US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia approved a settlement fund in which Pulcra Chemicals LLC will pay up to $1 million into a Temporary Drinking Water Fund.
The court on Friday also certified a class of town residents who can request bottled water or home filters paid for by that fund.
