Continental’s Hamm Open to ‘Great Combination,’ Sees Oil Higher

Billionaire Harold Hamm said he’s open to merging his Continental Resources Inc. with a rival if the opportunity arises amid a wave of deals in the struggling shale oil industry.

“We wouldn’t say no to a great combination of some sort,” Continental Chairman Hamm said in an interview. “Frankly, there’s a lot of speculation about who and what would fit and all those things out there in the market. Certainly right now, our company is not involved in any serious discussion with anyone.”
