Continental Resources Urges US Rivals to Drill Argentine Shale

Billionaire oil wildcatter Harold Hamm’s Continental Resources Inc. is calling on US competitors to follow it to a remote corner of Patagonia and cash in on what’s billed as the next shale bonanza.

Continental Chief Executive Officer Doug Lawler urged other US oil drillers to pursue partnerships in Argentina’s Vaca Muerta shale region, which he said involves lower exploration risk than fields at home and more potential upside because it remains largely untouched.
