Columbia Gas Secures Access to Property for Pipeline Maintenance

TC Energy Corp. unit Columbia Gas Transmission LLC successfully defeated counterclaims by a West Virginia property that had sought to block access to its land for pipeline work.

Columbia Gas owns an interstate natural gas pipeline running through Pennsylvania and West Virginia, and claimed it needed to access RDFS LLC’s property—acquired subject to Columbia’s easement—to conduct pipeline subsidence mitigation efforts.

Coal company American Consolidated Natural Resources told Columbia that the West Virginia land the pipeline runs through would be affected by an upcoming mining operations that could cause the ground to subside.
