Colorado River Basin States Formulating Plan for Continued Drought, Official Says

The Colorado River Basin states are formulating measures to deal with low water resources if the current 14-year drought continues in the region, a state water official said.

“The seven states are working on a plan if this dry pattern persists,” James Eklund, director of the Colorado Water Conservation Board, said June 10 during a session on “Water in the West” at the 2014 annual meeting of the Western Governors’ Association in Colorado Springs, Colo.
