Colorado voters approved Amendment 71, a ballot measure greatly favored by the oil and gas industry that will make it harder for citizens to amend the state constitution.
The citizens’ initiative was approved with 57 percent of the vote, according to unofficial numbers reported Nov. 9 by the Colorado secretary of state. It places new restrictions on proposals designed to amend the Colorado Constitution.
