Colorado’s parks and wildlife agencies are immune from a suit challenging the reintroduction of gray wolves in the state because environmental law requirements don’t apply to a plan where federal agencies only act as consultants, a federal judge ruled.
Releasing wolves in Colorado didn’t amount to a “major federal action” under the National Environmental Policy Act that would require the state to prepare an extensive environmental assessment, the US District Court for the District of Colorado said Thursday.
