Oil majors embroiled in a Boulder, Colo., climate lawsuit can still be on the hook for legal fire in state court, according to a district court order.

Some energy defendants managed to get the claims against them dismissed June 21, but big players like Exxon Mobil Corp. can still be liable under state law, according to Judge Robert R. Gunning, who also denied claims that the suit is preempted by federal law.
