Coastal Cities Say US Broke Federal Laws Granting Wind Project

East Coast cities and businesses say an offshore Maryland wind project approved by the Interior Department will adversely affect the Delmarva Peninsula’s wildlife and its tourism industry, according to a new lawsuit Friday.

The plaintiffs say the US Department of the Interior didn’t comply with federal statutes when it approved the Maryland Offshore Wind Project in September, according to their complaint. They allege the US violated the Administrative Procedure Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, and other laws concerning coastal and historic preservation.
