Clorox, Coca-Cola Must Face California Plastic Pollution Suit

Clorox, Coca-Cola, and other food, beverage, and consumer products companies lost their bid to shake a lawsuit alleging they duped the public about their products’ and packaging’s ability to be recycled and refused to switch to more sustainable materials, a state judge in California ruled.

The companies told the California Superior Court for San Mateo County that Earth Island Institute failed to show any of the products that were allegedly mislabeled as recyclable and sold in the state were polluting a local waterway.
