Climate Change Poses Significant Security Threat, Military Experts Say

Failure to address and adapt to the risk of climate change will pose significant national security threats around the world, military experts said.

Speaking at an event March 13 organized by the congressional Bicameral Task Force on Climate Change, military experts said the effects of climate change already were being felt on U.S. military installations and had the potential to exacerbate existing conflicts by causing droughts, food price increases and forced migrations, among other phenomenon.
