The Environmental Protection Agency announced that it would nearly double funding for clean school buses after districts from all 50 states applied for the 2022 Clean School Bus Rebates, according to EPA Thursday.
A total of $965 million will be made available, almost double the $500 million amount announced in May, said the agency.
The program prioritizes rural, low-income, and tribal communities to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions in these areas, EPA said.
